Digital Disobedients is an exhibition, a presentation and a magazine. The exhibition is comprised of work by Internet artists who are using the medium to make political statements about physical and online realities. The artists include 0100101110101101.ORG, Luuk Bouwman, Jonah Brucker-Cohen, Conglomco and Carbon Defense League, Josh Davis and Branden Hall, Kenneth Hung, Isaac Leung, Scott Sona Snibbe and The Yes Men. These artists have been awarded the title of “disobedient” by engaging in practices that have stirred the anger of major corporations, political officials, and federal agencies. These net-based works are being displayed as large format prints and videos. There will be a presentation and discussion of the web sites at 7:00 pm. Elisa Harkins will click through the projects online and explain their technical and conceptual aspects. The Digital Disobedients magazine with biographies, interviews of the artists, descriptions of the projects will be available to purchase at the opening.
