Training & Development
"Innovations in Safety, 1983-2003"
Friday, September 8, 2006 7 to 11pm will be the opening of an exhibition of work made by George Monteleone, Huong Ngo, and Alexander Stewart at Heaven Gallery. The show is a collection of videos, photos and other objects we have created over the past year. We invented a company called Training & Development for Version 05, and since then we have been working on filling in events in T&D's 20-year history.

Training & Development ("T&D") is a company committed to safety. With its three principal employees and a number of interns, T&D promotes safety nationwide through instructional videos, safety demonstrations and informative literature. T&D focuses its educational energies on the safety-industry tradeshow SafeCon, held every three years in Chicago, Illinois. This Career Retrospective is the first time that
all of T&D's efforts have been reviewed, and features a photographic history of the famous three-man (err- person) team. In addition, pieces from private collections of some of T&D's more memorable wardrobe choices will be featured, including a special "Glasses Retrospective" outlining the highs and lows of the T&D team's corrective eyewear through the years.

set 1:::
Robbie Lee:
New York-based multi-instrumentalist Robbie Lee keeps himself busy with a number of unusual musical projects; this solo set of guitar/woodwind improvisations is among his most recent. A wide variety of pedals and other noisemakers are deployed to manipulate electric guitars, but this isn't your grandma's loop-based music. The sound reflects Lee's love of the extremes of pop and experimental music, evoking not only the classic songwriting harmonies of the Beach Boys and the Kinks, but also the maverick experimentation of noisy heroes like Keiji Haino, Giacinto Scelsi, Moondog, and John Fahey. The unexpected results of his music-making are unseemly, surprising, and exciting – like nothing you've ever heard.

Stationwagon, a Chicago-based media collective, will be premiering their new 30 minute digital short, "Hardly Ever" (story by Mike Finch). The cast of "Hardly Ever" includes: Mick O'Dwyer, Mike Finch, Robert Krums, Mark Stevens and Sandra Lima.
The night will also include new G.I. Joe PSA's by Eric Fensler, new shorts by Douggpound, along with a few more new ones by Stationwagon.

"Hardly Ever" follows our main character "Vaden", through a day that he would just as soon forget. Problems with the boss and his girlfriend fill this humorous and at times uncomfortable, day-in-the-life story.
Stationwagon has been producing short films for the last 6 years. Other recent shorts they have done include, "The Bohoosh Blahoot Story", the three shorts that make up the "Sk8 or Die Trilogy" ("Sk8 or Die", "Booty BBQ", and "The Death of Rachel"), and "Good". Stationwagon will have DVDs of their films available at the premier. Current goings-on and more info about them can be found on the web at www.swagon.com.
